The American-Brazilian Aesthetic Meeting® (ABAM) connects aesthetic nurse practitioners and nonsurgical clinicians from around the world to discuss anatomy, patient assessment, treatment planning, technology, safety, and the future of aesthetic medicine.
Every winter in Park City, Utah, ABAM offers both surgical and nonsurgical education, direct access to faculty, hands-on learning, live device demos, and networking. Nurse practitioners learn with physicians, nurses, physician assistants, aestheticians, researchers, and industry leaders from over 20 countries.

Aesthetic medicine evolves fast. New products, devices, treatments, and patient expectations are always emerging. ABAM lets advanced-practice and nursing professionals explore these changes with experienced faculty, instead of relying only on isolated demos or marketing claims.
Each year, ABAM features over 100 speakers. Faculty come from plastic surgery, dermatology, facial plastic surgery, oculoplastic surgery, and nonsurgical aesthetics. Their varied backgrounds help attendees see how anatomy, procedure choices, skin health, surgical history, and long-term planning impact patient care.
This page is written for licensed professionals involved in nonsurgical aesthetic care, including:
ABAM’s registration includes a shared category for NPs, APRNs, RNs, PAs, CRNAs, and aestheticians. Professional authority depends on your license, location, supervision rules, employer policy, training, and facility credentials. Each attendee is responsible for following the laws and standards for their role.
ABAM has both surgical and nonsurgical education tracks. If you’re comparing a nonsurgical aesthetics or injectables conference, this broader format gives helpful context. You can learn about nonsurgical care and also hear how surgeons and other specialists look at anatomy, past procedures, tissue quality, and long-term options.
Depending on the annual program, subjects relevant to aesthetic nurse practitioners may include:
Programs and presenters change every year. If a certain topic, faculty member, workshop, or format is important to you, check the current schedule before you register.

Technique is important, but safe aesthetic care starts before using any product or device. Patient history, anatomy, goals, past treatments, contraindications, consent, and readiness all shape the plan. ABAM’s multidisciplinary setting helps you look at these factors from different professional viewpoints.
Faculty presentations show how experienced clinicians assess concerns, compare options, plan care, and decide when to change, delay, or skip treatment. These discussions help nurse practitioners improve the questions they ask in consultations and the reasoning they use within their scope.
Attending the conference does not make you clinically competent or expand your license. New procedures may need basic education, hands-on training, supervised practice, emergency prep, facility approval, and more credentials. ABAM introduces ideas and techniques, but each clinician must decide what responsible adoption means for them.
Knowing anatomy is key to safe and precise facial treatment. ABAM offers an optional Anatomy & Injectables Cadaver Lab, available through separate registration. The lab lets qualified participants study facial structures and link anatomy to procedural planning.
Availability, faculty, format, eligibility, pricing, and educational credit may change. Check the current registration materials and contact ABAM with any questions before making travel plans.
Hands-on education works best when you have the right clinical foundation. Choose workshops that match your experience, follow faculty guidance, and keep building your skills under supervision when learning new techniques.
Nurse practitioners often see patients who have had surgery, are thinking about surgery, or use nonsurgical treatments as part of a longer plan. Knowing the surgical perspective helps you talk about what nonsurgical treatments can do and when a referral makes sense.
ABAM places nonsurgical education within a larger aesthetic surgery conference. Plastic surgeons, dermatologists, facial plastic surgeons, oculoplastic surgeons, nurses, and other clinicians contribute different views of facial aging, anatomy, tissue behavior, recovery, and procedural limitations.
This exchange encourages teamwork. It helps you see where specialties overlap, where responsibilities differ, and how working together can set clearer expectations and lead to better treatment decisions.
Select ABAM sessions may be designated for Continuing Medical Education credit. Credit availability, eligible professions, participation requirements, and the claim process are defined in the current program and accreditation statement.
ABAM lists Postgraduate Institute for Medicine among its educational partners. PIM is jointly accredited by ACCME, ACPE, and ANCC to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. The meeting’s ISAPS endorsement is separate from CME approval and does not independently award credit.
Nurse practitioners, registered nurses, physician assistants, CRNAs, and other attendees should check which sessions count for their credentials and if the credit is accepted by their licensing or certifying body. Only report activities that are clearly marked as eligible for credit.
Depending on their role and selected sessions, nonsurgical clinicians may return from ABAM with:
The most valuable lesson may be discernment—knowing which ideas can improve your practice, which need more study, and which do not fit your patients, experience, or scope.
ABAM usually has morning and afternoon sessions with a midday break. You can use that time to keep conversations going, explore Park City, or enjoy the mountain. Evening events offer more chances to network and make friends.
Skiing is optional. Park City also has dining, shopping, arts, and winter activities for you and your family. The location lets you step away from daily routines while keeping education and real connections at the heart of the meeting.
The 19th American-Brazilian Aesthetic Meeting will be held February 4–7, 2027, at the Grand Summit Hotel in Park City, Utah.
ABAM is a nonprofit educational meeting founded by Dr. Renato Saltz. Net proceeds go to the Image Reborn Foundation, which offers free healing retreats and community for women affected by breast cancer.
